Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets to support GObike Buffalo and the Mass Ave Project bicycle ride last month. We’re so lucky to have these two amazing organizations in Buffalo to support cycling and local food. The work they do behind the scenes improves the overall wellness of our city. They are making cycling easier and safer, and fresh local food more available and accessible. We are proud at Normal Bicycles to support them and thank all of the Tour de Farms riders for doing the same.
And the winner is…
We are happy to announce that Mike from Clarence is the winner of the raffle!
Mike is now the proud owner of a totally custom hard maple touring bike with carbon fiber pin-striping throughout the frame. It’s built with a mix of comfort and speed. We hope Mike puts a lot of enjoyable miles on it!
You can see more photo and details of this bike here.
Tour de Farms
The Tour de Farms is an annual bicycle ride that showcases both rural and urban farms in Buffalo. This year’s event was the 10th annual.
The Tour de Farms is a bicycle tour of local urban and rural farms highlighting and celebrating sustainable transportation and our connection to the local food system.
The routes included shorter urban routers of 10 miles and 15 miles to a rural route of 48 miles. All routes end at the Massachusetts Avenue park (near the new MAP farmhouse) with a wonderful local food celebration, live music and, of course, beer. Find out more on the event website.
Although we didn’t get to do the ride this year, we heard lots of great feedback from the participants. The weather clear and surprisingly hot for September.
We’re looking forward to next year’s event!
